Job summary

Procter & Gamble Newcastle is offering an IT Technical Specialist Industrial Placement to design, build, and support AI‑driven IT solutions. You will develop innovative applications focusing on user experience for product design, development and testing within a data‑first architecture.

You will work on live business projects, contribute to data pipelines, dashboards and analytics, and gain mentoring from senior team members.

Qualifications

Pursuing or holding a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related quantitative discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
Possesses a strong technical curiosity and interest in autonomous AI frameworks and practical machine learning solutions, with a proven ability to gather requirements from non‑technical users and translate operational challenges into functional technical specifications.
A proactive, self‑motivated attitude with strong analytical and hands‑on problem‑solving skills in complex technical environments.
Fluency in English (written and oral).

Responsibilities

Contribute to the design and development of AI‑driven solutions using Microsoft Copilot Studio and Agentic AI frameworks.
Participate in data engineering, analytics, and AI development projects alongside senior team members.
Assist in building and maintaining data pipelines and data transformation workflows using Databricks.
Support the development of interactive dashboards, reports, and analytics solutions using Power BI.
Support testing, troubleshooting, and optimisation of data.
