Job description

Due to growth and internal promotion in the IT support team. My client is looking for an experienced IT Helpdesk Technician to join them. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity based in Leicester. Due to the size of the company national travel to other sites will be required.

You will require the following:

  • Experience within an IT focused role
  • Experience working with Windows operating systems and Office 365
  • Understanding of networking and servers
  • Experience with Help desk software
  • Full UK Driving Licence (Essential)

The main purpose of this position is to provide internal support across the business on software and hardware related issues. You will be joining an existing team of 4 dealing with queries on the phone, e-mail and face to face.

You will also perform the following duties:

  • Monitoring the flow of support tickets on the help desk system
  • Providing 1st and 2nd Line technical support and responding to support requests in a timely manner
  • Escalating more complex tickets to the relevant support team
  • Being involved in IT projects consisting of installation, configuration and deployment of new software/hardware
  • Producing user guides and support documentation

Salary and working hours:

  • Salary for this position is £18,000 – £21,000 depending on experience
  • This role is working Monday – Friday with slight changing shift patterns of: 8:00am – 4:00pm/9:00am – 5:00pm/9:30am – 5:30pm
  • You will be required to travel to other sites across the country so a full driving licence is essential. You will have access to a pool car and fuel costs are covered. They have sites in Ireland and Scotland which flights will be arranged for.
