Location: Just outside Ipswich (office-based)

Salary: £25,000 – £30,000 per annum

Overview

Are you enthusiastic about IT and enjoy helping people solve technical challenges? Our client, a forward-thinking and supportive company just outside Ipswich, is looking for a 1st Line Support Engineer to join their team. You’ll be the first port of call for IT queries, delivering hands-on support and ensuring a smooth user experience across the business. This role is fully onsite, so a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the first point of contact for IT support requests, providing both face-to-face and remote assistance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve 1st line technical issues across hardware, software, and network environments.
  • Escalate more complex issues to the 2nd line team when needed.
  • Configure and maintain desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
  • Deliver an outstanding customer experience, ensuring end-users feel supported and informed.
Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience in 1st Line IT Support or a Service Desk role.
  • Confident in troubleshooting Windows OS, Microsoft 365, and basic networking issues.
  • Strong communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
  • Able to prioritise and manage multiple issues simultaneously.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence is essential.
