Job description

Working in collaboration with internal stakeholders across Corporate Services, Delivery, and Security Operations, the IT Support Engineer will ensure the stability, security, and efficiency of PentenAmio's IT infrastructure.

  • Monitor, maintain and update IT infrastructure and security systems, producing relevant reports and taking corrective action when necessary.
  • Administer and maintain Active Directory, Exchange, Office 365, user accounts, and profiles.
  • Manage and support network components including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless systems.
  • Build and configure computers, install and update network and software applications.
  • Provide end-user support, including troubleshooting for PCs, servers, LAN, Wi‑Fi, and VoIP systems.
  • Oversee and support 3rd party systems to ensure service continuity.
  • Review and maintain up‑to‑date technical documentation and asset management records.
  • Implement and maintain IT security controls in line with company policies.
  • Provide ongoing feedback and updates on IT performance and incidents through the Service Desk.
  • Proven experience supporting Microsoft environments, including Active Directory, Exchange, Office 365, and Windows Desktop.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts (switching, routing, firewalls, TCP/IP, VPN/VLAN, load balancing, IP addressing).
  • Experience using network analysis and debugging tools (e.g. Wireshark).
  • Familiarity with enterprise wireless network management.
  • Knowledge of IT security principles and experience in secure IT environments.
  • Experience with Linux server environments and virtualization technologies (Hyper‑V, Proxmox, VMware).
  • Experience supporting IP Telephony Systems.
  • Knowledge of ITSM tools and processes.
  • Scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash or similar.
  • Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills, with a strong customer focus.
Desirable
  • Experience with Remote Desktop Services (RDS) and application proxies.
  • Familiarity with asset management and documentation best practices.
  • Exposure to automation or DevOps tools and practices.
  • Ability to contribute to innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Hold relevant IT qualifications or have a minimum of 1 year's experience in a similar technical support role.
  • Be a British citizen.
  • Hold or be eligible for UK National Security Vetting (NSV) – DV level clearance.
