Role Information

As an IT Support Engineer you will ensure the smooth running of computer systems, diagnose and resolve technical issues, support end users, and maintain the security and efficiency of our IT infrastructure across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prioritise tickets under the guidance of the Head of IT.
  • Ensure our staff and learners have a positive IT experience.
  • Install and configure computer hardware, operating systems and applications.
  • Support staff face‑to‑face, via Teams or by email.
  • Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults.
  • Provide support, procedural documentation and relevant reports.
  • Follow diagrams and written instructions to repair faults or set up systems.
  • Support the roll‑out of new applications.
  • Set up new user accounts and hardware.
  • Keep up to date with technology trends.
  • Maintain knowledge of cyber‑security principles.
  • Build good working relationships with staff and external suppliers.
  • Escalate issues or concerns to the Head of IT.
  • Act in line with company values and expected behaviours.
  • Promote equal opportunities and diversity.
  • Comply with Safeguarding, Prevent and Health & Safety policies, and be vigilant to potential concerns and risks.
  • Ensure confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Provide learners, customers and colleagues with support, advice and guidance as part of your everyday role.
Essential Criteria
  • Proven experience in IT support or a similar technical role.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Active Directory.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Entra / Azure Active Directory.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 applications and their administration.
  • Understanding of routing, switching and wireless access technologies.
  • Understanding of cyber‑security principles.
  • First‑line IT support experience beneficial.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Desirable Criteria
  • MS‑900 or AZ‑900 Microsoft qualification.
  • Microsoft Intune experience.
  • Windows Autopilot experience.
