Our client, a leading national services business, is hiring an IT Support Engineer to provide hands‑on technical support to colleagues across the UK. This role offers the opportunity to keep business‑critical systems running smoothly, while working with a broad range of technologies and stakeholders.
Provide IT support by phone, email and in person on hardware, software, systems and databases.
Set up desktop and laptop computers, ensuring systems are ready for use and correctly configured.
Diagnose and resolve issues with PC and server hardware, network and internet connectivity, and telephone systems.
Support and troubleshoot Windows 10 / 11, Windows Server 2019 / 2022, Active Directory, SQL Server, SharePoint, Office 365 and key line‑of‑business applications (including ERP and time & attendance systems).
Ensure safe disposal of obsolete equipment, consumables and waste materials in line with company procedures and legal requirements.
Travel to UK sites as required (pool car provided) to deliver on‑site support and project work.
You’ll work closely with other IT team members, managers and internal customers to prioritise business needs, respond to monitoring alerts and ensure issues are resolved promptly and professionally.
Experience supporting PCs and laptops in a commercial environment.
Hands‑on experience administering Active Directory domains and Windows Server operating systems.
Good understanding of networking and connectivity troubleshooting.
Strong communication skills with an excellent telephone manner and clear written English.
High attention to detail, accuracy and a methodical approach to problem solving.
Full UK driving licence.
Awareness of ISO27001.
Confidence working with data in tools such as Excel or other statistical / analysis packages.
