Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in a technical support or network administration role.
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols and cybersecurity principles.
  • Hands-on experience with Fortinet, Juniper, or Cisco switching is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and Intune.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day‑to‑day operations for LAN, WAN, Wi‑Fi, and Firewall systems.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues for desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
  • Administer Active Directory, Group Policies, and the M365 environment.
  • Lead incident management efforts, including root cause analysis and remediation.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for hardware and software resolutions.
  • Draft technical documentation and provide basic training to end‑users.

MCS are seeking a highly motivated, technical "Jack of All Trades" to join a rapidly expanding manufacturer. This is a high-impact role for a Senior IT Professional who is equally comfortable leading complex infrastructure projects as they are providing hands‑on support to internal users.

You will join an existing team currently, reporting into the IT Operations Manager. This is a role for an IT Support Analyst who takes ownership, can automate manual processes, and thrives in a period of significant transition.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day‑to‑day operations for LAN, WAN, Wi‑Fi, and Firewall systems.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues for desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
  • Administer Active Directory, Group Policies, and the M365 environment.
  • Lead incident management efforts, including root cause analysis and remediation.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for hardware and software resolutions.

Work Pattern & Package
  • Salary: £40,000 - £45,000/yr
  • Standard Hours: 38 hours per week
  • Flexi‑time: Core hours support with flexible start times between 07:00 and 09:15
  • Early Finish: The standard working week ends at 13:15 every Friday
  • On‑Call: Optional 24/7 on‑call rota
