Job summary

Groupon’s internal IT SOX team seeks an experienced IT SOX Manager to assess IT general and application controls affecting financial reporting. You’ll partner with Finance, Accounting and external auditors, mapping controls to risk and driving efficient SOC testing across platforms.

The role requires COBIT/COSO knowledge, strong communication, and a proactive, curious mindset to improve processes in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or relevant equivalent.
• 6+ years of proven audit experience, including leading SOX testing or supervising staff.
• CISA, CISM, CIA, CPA, CMA, or Chartered Accountant preferred.
• Solid grasp of finance and accounting fundamentals; link IT controls to financial reporting risk.
• Experience with NetSuite, Workday, BigQuery, Keboola; AuditBoard a plus.
• Comfortable with data warehouses and writing SQL queries; AI/data analytics a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage IT general and application controls within the financial reporting risk and control matrix.
• Scope systems for SOX testing based on risk, including new and migrating platforms.
• Create process narratives mapping financial reporting processes.
• Lead walkthroughs and assess design effectiveness of controls.
• Develop control test procedures and testing attributes.
• Test operating effectiveness of ITGCs, application controls and entity-level controls.
• Review SOX testing workpapers for adequate documentation.
• Evaluate deficiencies and draft management position memos.
• Monitor remediation status of IT SOX control failures and actions.
• Coordinate with external auditors on reliance, PBC, design gaps, and systems reviews.
• Partner with Finance on integrated audits; connect IT controls to financial impact.
• Leverage AI tools and data analytics to scale control testing with guardrails.
• Train control owners and auditors on IT SOX best practices.
• Mentor junior staff in IT SOX processes.
