Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd is seeking an IT Solutions Architect for a contract role. 3 positions are available, offering £656.81 per day inside IR35, on a 12-month basis. Role is remote with occasional visits to Preston (PR4) or Frimley (GU16).

The team focuses on modernising IT environments and delivering robust solution architectures across a global landscape. The role involves defining architectures, liaising with IM&T suppliers, and supporting project planning and risk review.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering IM&T solutions with architecture deliverables.
• Knowledge of architecture frameworks e.g. TOGAF.
• Understanding of IM&T / software development lifecycle (incl. Agile) and governance processes.
• Previous experience of technical leadership e.g. acting as a Technical Authority.

Responsibilities

• Defining the solution architecture and design for the project to meet business and system requirements, within the project constraints of cost and timescale, and the agreed architectural and technical framework
• Capturing and defining the as-is and to-be application, data and technology architectures for the assigned projects
• Ensuring and assuring that the overall functional and technical design of the solution is acceptable and fit for purpose
• Ensuring that the solution architecture and design is as required and is communicated effectively
• Liaising with internal and external IM&T suppliers and product teams
• Working effectively with the Project Managers to support the development of the project plan, reviewing estimates and schedules, and identifying technical risks

In the Enterprise IT Solution Architecture team, we are experiencing high growth and are working across a breadth of capabilities, including several hundred services and projects, supplier refreshes and the design and implementation of new architecture. The team are a committed group of professionals who are focused on delivering against our company strategy, as we invest in the modernisation of our people and our IT environment across a global landscape.

Working within the Shared Services Enterprise IT Architecture area to define robust and cost effective solution architectures and designs to meet the business objectives and requirements of the customer, with responsibility for delivery of fit for purpose solutions in line with Shared Services Enterprise IT standards and policies. To specify, design and assure information systems that support core organisational functions within key account or functional areas

Core Duties

• Defining the solution architecture and design for the project to meet business and system requirements, within the project constraints of cost and timescale, and the agreed architectural and technical framework

Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in delivering IM&T solutions together with associated architecture deliverables
• Good experience in design, development, test and release of Information Systems
• Knowledge and experience of working within architecture frameworks e.g. TOGAF
• Understanding of IM&T / software development lifecycle (including methodologies e.g. Agile) and associated reviews, policies, standards and governance processes
• Previous experience of technical leadership e.g. acting as a Technical Authority
