IT Service Desk Technician Bristol Area up to £23,000


Seeking a motivated Service Desk Technician with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to join a leading IT specialist company in the South West of the UK. Be part of a skilled team in various technologies, ensuring smooth computer operations for end users. Respond promptly to help requests, utilize diagnostic tools, and provide hands-on assistance. Strong customer-facing skills are a must.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose service issues encompassing internet connectivity, backups, and telephony.
  • Address connectivity problems across diverse technologies (broadband, ADSL, FTTC, FTTP, etc.).
  • Conduct preventive maintenance, including checking and cleaning servers, desktops, laptops, and devices at both software and hardware levels.
  • Offer recommendations for continual service improvement and analyse trends to prevent recurring issues.
  • Alert management to emerging incident trends and deploy pre-packaged software through automated deployment.

Skills required:

  • Understanding of computer hardware, encompassing desktops, laptops, servers, NAS, network equipment, routers, and telephony.
  • Expertise in desktop and server operating systems, encompassing Microsoft's current OS stack.
  • Background in an ITIL-driven environment, with a working knowledge of ITIL principles and processes being advantageous.
