Job summary

A financial markets consulting firm is seeking an experienced IT Policy writer for a 6-month contract in London. The role involves developing policy frameworks and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. Candidates must have a strong IT policy writing background and the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences. This hybrid position allows for 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.

  • Review and familiarize with existing Group and Firm IT Policies.

Overview

An experienced IT Policy writer is needed for a 6 month contract with a financial markets company in the city. Thorough understanding of IT operations and processes, and relevant experience in a financially regulated firm. Ability to explain technical concepts to people with a non-technical background to aid understanding and decision making. Self directed and structured approach to work. The role is hybrid, split 3 days in and 2 at home.

Responsibilities
  • Initial gap analysis across current policy documentation, the Group standard and best practice aligned to a recognised standard (e.g., CIS, NIST, ISO27001).
  • Develop a new policy framework to satisfy financial regulators (SEC (US), FCA (UK), FINMA (Swiss)) expectations.
  • Transfer existing documentation or create/update new policies to the agreed standard.
  • Work closely with S&P Information Security Officer, IT Department and Senior Management to update and create policies.
  • Review and familiarize with existing Group and Firm IT Policies; perform gap analysis; propose new policy framework; implement agreed policies.
