Overview

IT Network Engineer - Fortinet SD-WAN. Ford & Stanley are partnered with one of the UK s busiest and most strategically important train operating companies, to recruit an IT Network Engineer. This role is central to maintaining and evolving the network infrastructure that keeps over 1,700 trains a day running safely and reliably across London, Kent, and East Sussex.

The business is investing in a modern Fortinet SD-WAN architecture. This position offers the chance to be part of a major digital transformation, ensuring the network is secure, resilient, and optimised for future growth. You ll work closely with delivery partners, suppliers, and internal teams to support project delivery and drive service improvements.

Candidate Specifications
  • Experience operating, maintaining, and implementing Fortinet SD-WAN (essential)
  • CCNA Enterprise or CCNP (Routing & Switching, Wireless, or Security) certification or equivalent (essential)
  • Background working with service providers and suppliers
  • NOC experience with a desire to move into more hands-on, project-based work
  • Strong understanding of network performance, traffic management, and automation
  • Clear communicator with stakeholder engagement skills
  • Calm under pressure and ready to respond in critical situations
  • Passion for continuous improvement and leveraging existing infrastructure

Location: London Bridge (Hybrid 3 days on-site)

Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 + final salary pension + free rail travel
