Job summary

Howells Recruitment seeks an IT Mobilisation & Bid Manager to lead technology delivery for complex contract mobilisations from award through to go-live and hypercare in North London, with UK-wide travel.

You will head a team of Project Managers and Business Analysts, own the end-to-end mobilisation plan, coordinate integrations and data migration, and support bids and governance to deliver high-quality, on-time outcomes for clients.

Qualifications

• Experience leading IT or technology mobilisations end-to-end (initiation through go-live & hypercare).
• Strong knowledge of systems integration, APIs, data migration, UAT, non-functional readiness and cutover.
• Proven ability to lead and develop Project Managers and Business Analysts.
• Extensive bid and tender experience including requirements review, solution authoring and client presentations.
• Excellent stakeholder management with ability to influence senior stakeholders, clients, suppliers and technical teams.
• Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, commercially-focused messages for non-technical audiences.
• Strong governance, risk management, planning and reporting capabilities.
• A degree or equivalent professional experience; PRINCE2 and/or Agile qualifications; ITIL knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support bids and tenders by identifying tech requirements and contributing to IT responses.
• Manage risk, governance, reporting, and ensure adherence to mobilisation standards.
• Drive continuous improvement with playbooks, templates and lessons learned.
• Plan mobilisation resources across PM, BA and subject-matter expertise.

We are recruiting a leader to drive technology delivery of complex contract mobilisations, ensuring customers experience a seamless transition from contract award through to go-live and hypercare.

My client is a leading national contractor delivering a variety of construction, refurbishment and repairs contracts for housing associations, councils and public sector organisations.

You’ll lead a talented team of Project Managers and Business Analysts, own the IT mobilisation plan end-to-end, and represent IT at key client and programme forums. You’ll also play an important role in bids and tenders, helping shape compelling, deliverable technology solutions for prospective customers.

What you’ll be responsible for

Lead IT mobilisations end-to-end
Own the IT mobilisation plan, milestones, dependencies and stage gates from initial kick-off through go-live and hypercare, ensuring technology workstreams are delivered safely, on time and to the required quality.

Lead and develop your team
Line-manage Project Managers and Business Analysts, setting clear objectives, coaching for delivery excellence and building a collaborative, high-performing mobilisation practice.

Oversee systems and integrations
Lead the configuration and integration of platforms with client and supplier systems, including APIs and file exchanges, with a strong focus on data quality, security, resilience and performance.

Manage stakeholders and governance
Build trusted relationships with clients, suppliers and internal teams. Represent IT at mobilisation kick-offs and steering groups, and chair design reviews, readiness forums and cutover command centres.

Coordinate technology delivery
Bring together all IT workstreams, including systems changes, integrations, data migration, testing, training, cutover, go-live and hypercare.

Support bids and tenders
Review tender documentation, identify technology requirements and dependencies, develop robust IT responses, and represent IT during client presentations, demonstrations and interviews.

Manage risk and reporting
Ensure mobilisation standards and governance are consistently applied, providing clear reporting on risks, issues, dependencies and decisions to programme and senior leadership forums.

Drive continuous improvement
Own and evolve the IT mobilisation approach, including playbooks, templates and document libraries. Capture lessons learned and embed improvements to increase consistency, efficiency and quality.

Plan mobilisation resources
Identify and secure the right combination of Project Management, Business Analysis and subject-matter expertise for each mobilisation.

What we’re looking for

You’ll be an experienced IT mobilisation or technology delivery leader who is comfortable taking end-to-end accountability in complex, fast-moving environments.

You’ll bring:

• Proven experience leading IT or technology mobilisations from initiation through go-live and hypercare


• Strong knowledge of systems integration, APIs, data migration, UAT, non-functional readiness, cutover and post-go-live support


• Experience of leading and developing Project Managers and Business Analysts


• Strong bid and tender experience, including reviewing requirements, solution authoring, demonstrations and client presentations


• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders, clients, suppliers and technical teams


• The ability to translate complex technical information into clear, commercially focused messages for non-technical audiences


• Strong governance, risk management, planning and reporting capabilities


• A degree or equivalent professional experience


• PRINCE2 and/or Agile qualifications or equivalent delivery experience


• ITIL Foundation knowledge or certification would be advantageous


• An understanding of ISO 27001, information security and GDPR

You’ll be calm and credible under pressure, comfortable taking ownership and making decisions when timelines are demanding.

You’ll combine technical understanding with strong commercial and people skills, working collaboratively across teams while keeping the customer at the centre of delivery.
