Overview
The Wernick Group is the UK's largest and longest standing national provider of permanent and temporary modular buildings and site accommodation. Established since 1934, The Wernick Group remains a family run and owned company. We are seeking a proactive IT professional to oversee the efficient operation of the Group IT Infrastructure and services. The IT Manager will manage the day-to-day operation of the IT department, providing an efficient and effective support network for the wider business.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage IT and telecoms issues, acting as the conduit between the customer and departmental management.
- Monitor IT helpdesk performance, analyse trends, and identify improvement opportunities.
- Monitor the performance of the main external IT support provider and take steps to prevent issues.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide support and guidance to the IT team to fulfil their duties.
- Manage the annual Cyber Essentials Plus renewal.
- Plan and coordinate annual IT audits across the Group.
- Assist the IT Director with strategic projects.
- Any additional tasks as requested by line manager.
Responsibilities
- Oversee large IT projects by coordinating and allocating resources.
- Promote and maintain high morale to foster a positive working environment.
- Monitor the performance of IT infrastructure and services.
- Work with key stakeholders to understand and develop IT solutions.
- Recruit for vacant positions within the department.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages.
- Broad understanding of Windows Server Infrastructure.
- Understanding of MPLS networks.
- Experience with Extreme Switching and Access Points.
- Interpersonal and communication skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Flexible and willing to change work plans at short notice.
- Ability to liaise with and progress/escalate calls to a conclusion with external suppliers.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
