Job description

Role: IT Manager – Mission Mars

Location: Mission Mars Ground Control – 8 Hewitt Street, Manchester

Salary: £47,500-50,000 (DOE) per annum + Out of Hours Pay + up to 30% bonus per annum

Working Pattern: Office Based with some travel & overnight stays

The role

Mission Mars is an award winning multi-concept operator behind iconic brands like Albert's Schloss, Rudy's, and Albert Hall Manchester, with a Mission to deliver world-class food, drink, entertainment & hospitality experiences. We are looking for an experienced IT Manager to join our central team in supporting over 40 venues. This is a unique chance to own the delivery of world-class IT support in a dynamic, fast‑paced hospitality environment.

As IT Manager, you will be the final escalation point and project lead, ensuring seamless technology across the entire business.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Own and manage all IT service delivery, acting as the primary escalation point for complex 2nd/3rd line technical issues across 40+ venues and our Manchester HQ.
  • Drive critical IT infrastructure projects (upgrades, patch management, capacity planning) in collaboration with the Director of IT.
  • Lead the successful installation and commissioning of IT services for all new venue openings.
  • Manage IT operations, including capacity planning, budgeting, and ensuring adherence to agreed SLAs across all internal and external support channels.
  • Develop and coach 1st and 2nd line support staff, and deliver IT training to non‑technical stakeholders.
Technical Expertise
  • Microsoft Stack: deep proficiency in Exchange, Active Directory, Office 365, and SharePoint administration.
  • Networking: proven experience configuring and troubleshooting network hardware (routers, switches, APs), specifically with Unify / Draytek technologies.
  • Security & Compliance: strong skills in IT Security, risk management/recovery, and compliance standards.
  • Infrastructure: expertise in DNS configuration, domain management, and support.
Essential Experience & Mindset
  • 3–5 years in a senior IT support or IT Manager role, ideally in a multi‑site or high‑growth environment.
  • IT qualification (e.g., CompTIA, ITIL, Microsoft Certified or equivalent degree).
  • Exceptional customer‑focused support and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical issues for non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable experience leading full project lifecycles (planning, delivery, review) and managing external procurement and support partners.
  • Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Knowledge
  • Prior hospitality industry IT support experience.
  • EPOS support including hardware, software, administration and delivery channel integration.
  • Strong reporting skills; MIS, Excel, SQL.

Working Hours & Travel

Your place of work is Mission Mars Ground Control, Manchester city centre. Your core hours of work will be Monday to Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm. Out of hours emergency remote support (1 week in 4 for any business critical issues). Travel to our UK venues as required for the role with flexibility around working hours required. Some hotel overnight stays as required to meet needs of the business.
