Job summary

Calisen Metering seeks an Infrastructure Migration Engineer for an outside IR35 contract, onsite five days a week in the UK. You will drive migrations of users, devices and services to a modern Microsoft 365 platform, resolving blockers and ensuring secure, smooth cutovers.

You will work with Infrastructure, Cyber Security and Project teams, delivering hands-on remediation, documentation and knowledge transfer as part of a major technology transformation.

Qualifications

• Strong experience administering Microsoft 365, Entra ID and Active Directory.
• Experience with Quest migration tooling or comparable platforms.
• Proven track record supporting enterprise Microsoft 365 and endpoint environments.
• Experience troubleshooting complex user, device and infrastructure issues.
• Endpoint remediation and security improvement experience with Intune/Defender.
• Knowledge of Windows 10/11 deployment and Azure administration.
• Familiar with Group Policy and Windows Server administration.

Responsibilities

We're looking for an experienced Infrastructure Migration Engineer to join us on an outside IR35 contract basis and help deliver a major Microsoft 365 and infrastructure migration programme. As part of this engagement, you'll use your expertise across Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Entra ID, Intune and endpoint technologies to support the migration of users, devices and services from a legacy environment into a modern, consolidated platform. What You'll Be Doing

As the Infrastructure Migration Engineer, you'll be responsible for:

• Delivering user, device and infrastructure migration activities using Quest migration tooling and Microsoft technologies.
• Supporting onsite migration waves, device migrations and user cutover activities.
• Identifying, troubleshooting and resolving migration blockers across Microsoft 365, Active Directory, endpoints and security controls.
• Carrying out endpoint remediation and security hardening activities using Microsoft Intune, Defender and related technologies.
• Implementing infrastructure changes and technical fixes to support successful migrations.
• Working closely with Service Desk, Infrastructure, Cyber Security and Project teams to coordinate migration activities and technical readiness.
• Providing hands-on support to end users during migration activities.
• Producing technical documentation, migration procedures, knowledge articles and support handover material.

What We’re Looking For

Essential Experience

• Strong experience in Microsoft 365, Entra ID and Active Directory administration.
• Experience using Quest migration tooling (or comparable enterprise migration platforms).
• Proven experience supporting enterprise Microsoft 365 and endpoint environments.
• Experience troubleshooting complex user, device and infrastructure issues.
• Experience carrying out endpoint remediation and security improvement activities.
• Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11 deployment, migration and support.
• Experience with Microsoft Intune, Defender and endpoint management technologies.
• Knowledge of Group Policy, Windows Server and Azure administration.

Desirable Experience

• PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Microsoft certifications such as Azure Administrator Associate or Endpoint Administrator Associate.
• Experience delivering outcomes within contract or project-based environments.
• Experience supporting large-scale migration programmes.

Location Requirement
