About the Role

As WCHG's IT Infrastructure Lead you’ll take the reins on managing and enhancing our IT infrastructure across cloud, on‑premise, networking and security. Working closely with our IT Manager you’ll help deliver our IT Strategy, ensuring systems are secure, resilient and fit for the future.

This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’ll mentor colleagues, act as the product expert for Azure / M365 and on‑premise systems, and lead on cyber security controls. You’ll also play a key role in disaster recovery, risk management and ensuring compliance with IT best practice.

And it’s an exciting time to join us as you’ll be central in our next steps into moving our infrastructure to cloud.

Note this role is advertised on a hybrid basis and will require a minimum of 3 days a week on site. A UK driver’s licence and access to your own vehicle are also essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development, security and resilience of WCHG’s ICT infrastructure
  • Act as product expert for Azure / M365 and on‑premise solutions
  • Own and manage ICT cyber security processes including incident response
  • Mentor and supervise the ICT Infrastructure Engineer and wider technology team
  • Lead on data backup replication and disaster recovery testing
  • Provide final line (4th line) technical support for escalated issues
  • Scope, plan and deliver ICT infrastructure projects
  • Evaluate new technologies and recommend strategic solutions
  • Ensure compliance with ICT policies, accreditations and risk management processes
What We’re Looking For
  • Strong knowledge of ICT infrastructure (networking, virtualisation, messaging, storage, cloud and security)
  • Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure / M365 including design, deployment and maintenance
  • Experience in high‑availability multi‑site environments
  • Strong project planning and delivery skills
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery, WAN / LAN design and directory integrations
  • Line management or mentoring experience
  • Excellent communication skills – able to translate complex issues into user‑friendly language
  • Relevant certifications (e.g. Microsoft Azure / 365, VMware, Citrix, CCNP, ITIL) or equivalent experience
Why Join Us
  • 25 days Annual Leave rising to 30 with length of service
  • Enhanced leave options for Maternity, Paternity, Adoption & Shared Parental Leave
  • Enhanced Pension scheme contributions
  • Health Care Plan providing rebates for dental, optical and therapy costs
  • Subsidised Healthy Living benefits (gym membership, yoga classes)
