Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Plan, install and configure hardware, operating systems, and applications.
  • Monitor, maintain and troubleshoot IT systems, including desktop computing, telephony, servers, storage, and networking.
  • Manage escalation to external support providers as required.
  • Establish a good working relationship with customers, suppliers, and other professionals.
  • Identify, test, and evaluate new technology to address business needs.
  • Lead technology-based project work and infrastructure design.
  • Provide in-house IT training.
  • Participate in out of hours troubleshooting and maintenance work as required.
  • Be willing to participate in an on-call rota providing Out of Hours support for high priority support incidents.
  • Undertake disaster recovery planning: oversee backup and restoration of systems.
  • Engage in interpretation of IT-relevant regulatory frameworks.
Job description

In this role you will be working closely with the entirety of the IT teams including Development and BI. You will be responsible for maintaining existing systems and implementing new systems to fit business requirements. You will be ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of networks, servers, and storage systems. Your role extends to troubleshooting complex issues, optimising performance, and enforcing best practices to enhance scalability and resilience, thereby underpinning the smooth functioning of our IT environment. In this role, you'll engage with various stakeholders, from departmental heads to end-users, to understand their needs and translate them into actionable technical solutions. Your overarching goals encompass the seamless operation of systems, minimisation of downtime, and maximisation of IT infrastructure performance. The solutions you will create will be replicable and manageable by other IT teams. Through proactive monitoring, identification of potential bottlenecks, and implementation of preventative measures, you'll contribute to the overall efficiency and adaptability of the organisation. Ultimately, your role as an IT Infrastructure Engineer is pivotal in maintaining a resilient IT foundation that supports the growth and success of our organisation.
