Role Overview

As an IT Infrastructure Engineer you will work closely with the entire IT team, including Development and Business Intelligence. Your responsibilities include maintaining existing systems, implementing new systems to meet business requirements, ensuring reliability, security, and efficiency of networks, servers, and storage systems, troubleshooting complex issues, optimizing performance, and enforcing best practices to enhance scalability and resilience. You will engage with stakeholders—from departmental heads to end users—to translate needs into actionable technical solutions that support the organization’s growth.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Plan, install and configure hardware, operating systems, and applications.
• Monitor, maintain and troubleshoot IT systems, including desktop computing, telephony, servers, storage, and networking.
• Manage escalation to external support providers as required.
• Establish a good working relationship with customers, suppliers, and other professionals.
• Identify, test, and evaluate new technology to address business needs.
• Lead technology‑based project work and infrastructure design.
• Provide in‑house IT training.
• Participate in out of hours troubleshooting and maintenance work as required.
• Willingness to participate in an on‑call rota providing out‑of‑hours support for high‑priority incidents.
• Undertake disaster recovery planning: oversee backup and restoration of systems.
• Engage in interpretation of IT‑relevant regulatory frameworks such as information governance, GDPR, and Cyber Essentials.
