Job summary

QinetiQ Limited is seeking an IT Engineer to join our Farnborough site, delivering IT solutions and supporting project delivery. You will engage with customers, lead technical tasks, and mentor junior colleagues as part of a capable team.

The role is on-site, 37 hours per week, with a strong focus on Windows/Linux infrastructure, networking, and Hyper-V virtualization. Farnborough hosts cutting-edge laser tech and R&D projects in the UK.

Qualifications

• Previous experience of working in an IT engineering role.
• The ability to work with a broad and comprehensive range of concepts and principles within the areas of IT.
• Broad experience of Windows Client/Server Infrastructure, Networking, Virtualisation (Hyper-V) and Linux.

Responsibilities

• Delivering Hardware/Software builds and Systems Installation and Integration
• Proposals for CIDA
• Technically leading small projects or certain parts of larger projects to deliver solutions
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers
• Delivering outputs and providing pragmatic solutions which may include Technical presentations, Technical documentation, Test plans and reports, user guides and work instructions and Design or process documents
• Providing mentoring support to junior colleagues
• Undertaking tasks of increasing complexity through the derivation of solutions using existing practices

The Role

As an IT Engineer, you will join a strong team of engineers providing expertise and providing IT supporting the delivery of projects and delivering IT solutions to our customers. Day-to-day, you'll engage with customers and stakeholders in supporting the delivery of projects and leading the delivery of complex technical tasks, as directed by the Technical lead. Your responsibilities will include:

Essential Experience

Essential Qualifications

• A first degree in Science or Engineering or equivalent on the job experience
