About Us

The Role

As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team reporting to the CEO, the Director of Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) will be a collaborative and inclusive leader who builds on organisational strengths and champions innovation. This role is pivotal in shaping the Commission’s digital future and representing the organisation externally

You will lead a team of approximately 80 people (growing to 110 post transformation) and manage external service providers across IT operations, cybersecurity, project delivery, and governance. Your leadership will create an environment where inclusion, accountability, and innovation thrive

Key Responsibilities
  • Executive Leadership: Influence organisational strategy and values, ensuring fairness, transparency, and ethical practice
  • Planning: Develop and implement the Commission’s digital and data strategy, aligning technology with organisational goals
  • Digital Transformation: Oversee delivery of the 2026–2029 transformation programme and a diverse portfolio of digital projects, including procurement and supplier mgmt.
  • Capability Building: Ensure the organisation has the technical, security, and data skills required
  • Financial Stewardship: Manage significant budgets and guide investment decisions for technology and services
  • Innovation in DDaT: Drive adoption of new tech within appropriate risk frameworks
  • Technology Architecture: Ensure robust, secure, and resilient infrastructure with effective disaster recovery mechanisms
