Job summary

The Home Office seeks an IT Commercial Specialist (Inside IR35) for a 10-month contract, hybrid working with mandatory 3 days per week in one of London, Manchester, Liverpool or Solihull offices. These are difficult areas that can rapidly change in the global environment we work in - this makes us one of the most exciting and stimulating government departments in which to work.The role:The Commercial IT Specialist - (Inside IR35) will join the Home Office’s Software Commercial Category team and take ownership of the end-to-end procurement lifecycle for software solutions.As a IT Commercial Specialist - (Inside IR35) your main responsibilities will be:* Commercial Strategy: Develop and implement software sourcing strategies aligned with departmental objectives and government frameworks.* Market Engagement: Conduct market analysis, supplier engagement, and benchmarking.* Tender Management: Lead competitive procurement exercises, including drafting ITTs, evaluating bids, and managing clarifications.* Contract Negotiation: Negotiate commercial terms, SLAs, and licensing agreements to ensure value for money and risk mitigation.* Compliance: Ensure adherence to Public Contracts Regulations 15, Procurement Act 2023, Cabinet Office guidelines, and Home Office policies.* Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with technical teams, programme leads, and legal advisors to deliver procurement outcomes.* Risk Management: Identify and mitigate commercial, operational, and security risks.Essential Requirements* SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks.
