Job summary

The role sits between business, technology and architecture teams, translating complex asset servicing requirements into practical end-to-end solutions, with occasional travel to European offices.

We’re working with a major financial market infrastructure organisation looking for an experienced IT Business Analyst to join its Asset Servicing technology function

.

This is a particularly good opportunity for someone with strong securities post-trade, asset servicing or corporate actions knowledge who wants to broaden their role beyond traditional business analysis and develop towards Solution Architecture.

You’ll join a major multi-year modernisation programme, helping shape how asset servicing capabilities evolve across a complex, business-critical technology estate.

The Role

Sitting between the business, technology and architecture teams, you’ll help translate complex asset servicing requirements into practical end-to-end solutions.

You’ll work closely with senior Solution Architects, business stakeholders, engineering teams and technology partners across the UK and Europe, with responsibilities including:

• Understanding and challenging existing asset servicing and corporate actions processes
• Translating business requirements into clear functional and technical requirements
• Supporting process redesign and the adoption of packaged asset servicing capabilities
• Helping shape end-to-end solution designs, including interactions with settlement, cash and payment services
• Mapping data flows, interfaces, dependencies and integration requirements
• Contributing to high-level design discussions around APIs, messaging and event-driven architecture
• Identifying functional and non-functional requirements including resilience, performance and availability
• Working with architects and engineers to evaluate solution options, risks and dependencies
• Supporting workshops, backlog refinement and wider programme planning
• Presenting requirements and solution options clearly to both technical and senior business stakeholders

You’ll be joining a complex transformation environment, so not every problem will arrive neatly documented and tied with a bow. Being comfortable asking questions, challenging assumptions and creating structure from ambiguity will be important.

What We’re Looking For

• The key requirement is strong knowledge of securities post-trade.
• You may currently be an IT Business Analyst, Senior/Lead Business Analyst, or come from a technical background where you’ve developed significant functional and solution-design experience.

We’re particularly interested in people with:

• Strong experience across asset servicing, corporate actions or securities post-trade
• Understanding of corporate actions lifecycles, settlement and associated cash movements
• Experience within a CSD, financial market infrastructure, custodian, investment bank or other complex securities environment
• Experience working across both business and technology teams
• Strong requirements gathering, process modelling and functional design skills
• Exposure to large-scale technology change or modernisation programmes
• An understanding of integration concepts including APIs, messaging and event-driven systems
• Strong stakeholder management and presentation skills
• The ability to work effectively across geographically distributed teams
• Confidence operating where requirements may initially be incomplete or ambiguous

Experience with any of the following would be advantageous:

• Kafka or event-driven architecture
• IBM MQ
• Java-based enterprise environments
• Mainframe modernisation
• Microsoft Azure or cloud migration programmes
• SAFe or similar enterprise agile environments
