Job summary

DWP Digital is recruiting an IT Asset Manager to oversee the lifecycle of 125,000 IT assets, including laptops, peripherals and printers. You will develop and implement asset management processes, ensure data accuracy and governance, and collaborate with Digital Workspaces and suppliers to optimise the IT estate.

The role requires experience in applying asset management standards and communicating changes effectively to stakeholders, contributing to cost efficiency and service delivery across

Experience of developing and applying processes,techniquesand tools to capture, track, correct and report onIT HardwareAssets and associated data to ensure for accuracy and completeness.

Demonstrative ability to interpret complexIT HardwareAsset information and present in a simplified format to peers and management. Experience of agreeingthe scope ofITHardwareAssetManagement standards, plans,processesand procedures with stakeholders to optimise the capture and use of asset management data. Proven experience of managingIT HardwareAssetsand ensuringthat changes are properlyimpactedand communicated. Experience ofevaluating existingIT HardwareAsset management systems andleadingthecontinuous improvement ofIT Asset Management procedures.

You and your role

This role is all about providing colleagues with the tools and tech they need to deliver vital services to millions of citizens.

The Workplace Computing team manages approximately 125,000 IT assets, including laptops, peripherals, and printers, supporting colleagues across DWP and wider government.

As part of the IT Asset Management (ITAM) team, you will play a key role in ensuring these assets are accurately tracked, governed, and managed throughout their lifecycle.

You'll develop and improve asset management processes, policies, and controls, using data and insight to support decision-making, drive compliance, and enhance service delivery.

Working with a broad range of stakeholders across Digital, operational teams, and suppliers, you will help ensure DWP's technology estate remains well-managed, cost-effective, and fit for purpose.
