Overview

Learning Partners IT Apprentice
Place of work: Guildford, Surrey

Four days a week in school, 1 day a week to study.

You don’t need to go to university to kickstart your career. If you want to learn while you earn and stay up to date with the latest technology, our apprentice opportunity may be for you.

Join Learning Partners Academies network team to provide network support in Kings College Guildford and other schools remotely. You will train with Primary Goal remotely and obtain industry‑recognised qualifications without attending college.

What you will be doing
  • Apprenticeship training delivered by Primary Goal.
  • Work in a school trust carrying out helpdesk and IT duties: resolve problems related to operating systems, networks, software, user accounts and websites.
  • Provide first line support for staff who raise helpdesk tickets.
  • Provide technical support to understand and troubleshoot issues.
  • Creation of staff accounts across a range of programs and websites.
  • Assist in system upgrades and system maintenance.
  • Liaise with third party suppliers such as Internet Service Providers and vendors to retrieve quotes.
  • Support technology asset management.

Working Week

Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week with a 40 minute lunch break. Four days a week in school and one day a week to study.

Salary

£10,000 for the first 12 months. The remaining 10 months of the apprenticeship will be paid at the National Minimum Wage according to your age.

Desired Qualifications

GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 (or above), or Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths.

Expected Duration

15 months with 4 months End Point Assessment. This is a fixed term appointment of 20 months to run concurrently with the apprenticeship program.

Progression

On passing the apprenticeship, you may gain recognition for the Register of IT Technician (RITTech). There may be a progression to our Level 4 Network Engineer apprenticeship in some cases.
