Overview
We are recruiting for an IT Application Support Engineer to be based from our offices in Walsall. The IT Application Support Engineer will be responsible for supporting enterprise and bespoke applications that are used across the business. The role will triage, investigate, and provide resolutions for application and computing issues. Other key duties will include configuration management, supporting project delivery, application upgrades and testing. Responsibilities
- Triage, investigate, and provide resolutions for application and computing issues.
- Provide technical knowledge to new initiatives and IT projects.
- Develop and execute functional and technical test scripts for desktop and mobile platforms when making significant change.
- Maintain communication via email and in-person to internal customers while delivering updates.
- Deploy executables, medium-scale integrations, app packages and scripts to mobile clients, using silent installation and configuration parameters where appropriate.
- Develop configuration files and software policies using programming languages and deployment tools.
- Create new configuration standards and policies to ensure end user devices, applications and collaboration tools perform optimally.
- Ensure end user devices remain secure and bug-free by configuring and executing application and operating system updates.
- Maintain, update, and create support documentation for end users and the wider IT support teams.
Qualifications
- Experience working in a technical application support role.
- Experience deploying applications in an enterprise environment.
- Experience in managing desktop and mobile devices via AD, Azure and MDMs. Experience using SQL to diagnose incidents and provide data.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to adapt readily to changing priorities and working practices.
- Ability to work with multiple workloads simultaneously.
- Ability to work well under pressure to respond quickly to issues and provide meaningful workarounds until a release can be made.
