Job description

Cell therapies are transforming the treatment of devastating diseases like cancer, bringing hope to patients where there was none before. But making these life-changing treatments available to more people depends on solving one of the biggest challenges in cell therapy: manufacturing at scale. At Cellular Origins, we're using robotics and automation to make that possible. And behind the science and engineering, we need reliable, secure technology that helps our people do their best work. That's where you come in.

It's an exciting time to join Cellular Origins. We're growing, moving into a new home in Melbourn and building our own independent IT infrastructure. This is a rare opportunity to help shape how technology works across an ambitious company, with the freedom to make decisions and see the impact of what you build.

Job Description

Job Description

As our IT Administrator, you'll work closely with our Head of IT to build, run and continuously improve the technology that keeps Cellular Origins connected, secure and moving forward.

You'll be hands-on across everything from Microsoft 365 and cloud infrastructure to business applications and workplace technology. Rather than inheriting an established environment and simply keeping it running, you'll help create one that can grow with us.

With a small IT team supporting a business doing extraordinary things, your ideas will be heard, your technical judgement will matter, and you'll have genuine ownership of the solutions you deliver.

What You'll Do

You'll get to work across a broad range of technologies, solving real problems and helping us build an IT environment that's secure, dependable and easy for people to use.

Some of the things you'll get involved in include:

  • Building our independent IT environment: Help deliver our Microsoft 365 tenant migration and manage Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, Entra ID and Intune.
  • Making technology work for our people: Build and deploy Windows 11 devices using Autopilot, imaging and scripted provisioning, making it easier for colleagues to get up and running.
  • Shaping our new workplace: Help establish and maintain the network, wireless connectivity and workplace technology in our new Melbourn office.
  • Improving the systems we rely on: Support and develop business applications including NetSuite, our SharePoint intranet and internal Power Platform tools.
  • Making IT secure and sustainable: Put clear documentation, practical controls and repeatable processes in place so the systems you build are easy to support and maintain.
  • Finding better ways of working: Use automation to reduce repetitive tasks, explore new technologies and work with suppliers to make sure we're getting the best from our IT investments.

You'll also help us build the right foundations for a business working with customers in the life sciences industry, where security, reliability and well-documented processes really matter.

Qualifications

About You

You'll thrive in this role if you're someone who enjoys getting stuck into technical challenges, takes pride in doing things properly and likes having the freedom to find the best solution.

You're equally comfortable troubleshooting an issue for a colleague as you are planning a migration or improving how a system is managed. You'll enjoy working in a growing company where not everything has been defined yet, and where you can make a real difference by bringing structure, clarity and your own ideas.

You'll bring:

  • Hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365 in a live business environment, particularly Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online and Entra ID.
  • Experience managing Windows devices using Intune, including Windows deployment and provisioning.
  • A good understanding of enterprise networking, including VLANs, DHCP, DNS and wireless networks.
  • Practical PowerShell skills to automate tasks, produce reports and make everyday IT work more efficiently.
  • The ability to write clear, useful documentation and explain technical decisions to people who aren't IT specialists.
  • Confidence working independently, setting priorities and seeing problems through from start to finish.

It would also be great if you've worked with Fortinet networking products, Azure administration, tenant migrations or Power Platform applications such as Power Apps and Power Automate.

Experience managing software licences and suppliers, using AI tools to improve business workflows, or relevant Microsoft 365 or Fortinet certifications would be welcome too
