Job summary

Thorn Baker Construction on the Isle of Wight is seeking a Site Manager for a year-long residential project. You will oversee demolition, scaffolding, glazing and fire remediation works, ensuring safety, quality and on-time delivery.

This role requires hands-on leadership, SMSTS/CSCS, First Aid, scaffolding awareness, and a valid UK driving license. The position is fixed-term, full-time, with a daily rate of £280–£300, on-site work.

Qualifications

• SMSTS certificate required.
• CSCS card valid for site management roles.
• First Aid at Work certification required.
• Scaffold Awareness training.
• Valid full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and supervise all site activities, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Manage subcontractors and suppliers, monitoring progress and resolving issues on site.
• Oversee demolition works, scaffolding erection and management, glazing installation and fire remediation processes.
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work meets specifications and quality standards.
• Maintain clear and accurate site records, including daily reports, risk assessments and method statements.
• Lead toolbox talks and promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
