Job summary

A progressive agricultural business in Staffordshire is looking for an experienced Irrigation Manager to oversee irrigation systems. You will manage hands-on irrigation and fertigation procedures, monitor crop conditions, and lead an irrigation team. The ideal candidate has a strong background in irrigation management, along with excellent communication and leadership skills. This permanent position offers a salary between £35,000 to £45,000 plus benefits, including holiday leave and opportunities for growth.

Irrigation Manager – Staffordshire

Salary: £35,000 to £45,000 plus benefits.

The Job

We are recruiting an experienced Irrigation Manager to oversee all automated and manual irrigation systems across a commercial farming operation. This hands‑on role includes managing irrigation and fertigation programmes, monitoring crop and soil conditions, maintaining infrastructure, and leading an irrigation team. You will also take responsibility for new irrigation projects and work closely with senior management to improve productivity, quality, and sustainability. Weekend and seasonal overtime will be required during peak growing periods.

The Candidate
  • Proven experience managing irrigation systems, ideally across soft and stone fruit crops
  • Strong understanding of fertigation, including EC and pH management
  • Experience with Priva irrigation systems is highly desirable
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong leadership and communication skills; experience managing multilingual teams is an advantage
  • Passionate about agriculture, innovation, and high standards of delivery
  • Willing to work weekends and overtime during the growing season
  • Confident IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Desirable: PA1, PA2a, PA3a, PA6 qualifications and experience using Muddy Boots farm management software

  • Salary of £35,000 to £45,000, dependent on experience
