Job summary

Somerset NHS Foundation Trust in Bridgwater is seeking a Mental Health IPS Employment Specialist to help people with serious mental health difficulties find meaningful paid work using the IPS model.

You'll work within a multidisciplinary team embedded in community services, travel across the locality and provide job coaching, assessments and ongoing support to achieve employment outcomes.

Qualifications

• Eligible professionals from OT, RMN or Social Work backgrounds.
• Current registration with the appropriate professional body.
• Experience in mental health recovery and employment support is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with people with severe mental health challenges to help them gain or keep paid employment.
• Carry out vocational assessments to map strengths, interests and employment goals.
• Develop tailored action plans and provide ongoing job guidance throughout the journey.
• Build relationships with local employers and identify suitable job opportunities.
• Provide job coaching, in-work support, workplace assessments and reasonable adjustments.
• Help clients understand work-related risks and create collaborative recovery plans.
• Collaborate with Community Mental Health Teams to ensure coordinated support.
• Advocate for employment as part of recovery and promote its benefits.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to service quality and outcomes.
