Job description

Surfline is looking for an iOS Engineer to help evolve our iOS apps. As an engineer on our team, you are expected to be a problem-solver, product builder, and forward thinker. You're driven by a desire to build great user experiences that help our community, and you'll work with Product, UX, and cross-functional engineering teams to build progressive, reliable, impactful features for the Surfline apps.

Under Surfline's "Work from Anywhere" policy, this position may be performed from anywhere in the UK.

What You’ll Do:
  • Develop new features collaboratively within our team of native engineers, alongside Web, Product and UX partners
  • Work with modern Swift technologies and iOS best practices
  • Systematically debug apps to diagnose and fix issues
  • Grow your expertise across multiple Surfline apps while advancing your iOS development skills
  • Solve challenging problems with clear and straightforward solutions using your engineering creativity
  • Ship code regularly and often in an agile environment with continuous deployment
  • Shape product development and contribute to our mission – your voice matters beyond implementation
What We’re Looking For:
  • A degree in Computer Science or a related subject
  • 3-5 years of professional experience
  • Track record of shipping and iterating on at least one app in the App Store
  • Experience building complex applications for iOS devices using Swift
  • Experience with iOS instrumentation & monitoring tools
  • Experience testing your work, from unit tests to UI tests
  • Experience using a CI/CD pipeline (e.g. Bitrise, CircleCI, Jenkins, or similar)
  • Experience with Combine, async/await, or other modern iOS frameworks
  • Collaborative mindset with experience working in cross-functional teams
  • The ability to communicate clearly with diverse audiences

  • A passion for surfing, ocean activities, or outdoor recreation
  • Contributions to open source projects or side projects you're proud of
