A leading charity for dementia seeks an Involvement Support Volunteer to assist in a focus group for people living with dementia in Coventry. Responsibilities include setting up the environment, helping participants engage, and performing light administrative duties. Ideal candidates will have empathy, strong communication skills, and interest in dementia. Commitment to helping those affected by dementia in a supportive community is essential.

Local Involvement activities enable people living with dementia to engage in meaningful activities within a group setting, either online or face-to-face, and to have a voice. They do this by using their experiences to influence the work both of Alzheimer’s Society and the health and social care environment on matters to improve the quality of their lives.
You’ll help to set up the room and tidy away at the end of the group as well as prepare and hand out refreshments. You’ll welcome and talk with people living with dementia and assist them where necessary to engage in Involvement activities and, if supporting an online group, to join in the conversation. Some light administration duties, such as registering attendees or taking meeting notes may also be involved.
As an Involvement support volunteer, you will joining a team of fantastic volunteers who help support Alzheimers society Coventry team in delivering a wide range of activity, support and information groups. We are seeking an Involvement support volunteer for our Dementia-Friendly Focus Group which we run at the Community Dementia partnership Hub Coventry CV64DT on the 3rd Thursday every month from 10.30 am - 12.30 pm. Meetings enable people living with dementia to influence change in their community or nationally and support the work of Alzheimer’s Society. Aiming to empower people living with dementia to use their voice to share experiences and thoughts on meaningful topics that can make a difference. It is also an opportunity to connect with other people, to create new friendships within a welcoming environment. You will be supported in our volunteering role by a friendly and supportive team including group facilitator and Dementia advisers.
