The role will include supporting the Estate’s strategy portfolio appraisal and continued investment or disposal across a wide and varied portfolio, through the application or alignment to ISO 55001 with the aim of optimising the asset portfolio for DWP employees, customers and other stakeholders whilst at the same time maintaining the critical requirement of asset compliance.
You will play a key role in our department’s goal of improving the estate to provide a safer, more productive environment for staff and customers, whilst reducing the Department’s carbon footprint.
You will support the delivery of the Department’s asset strategy commitments, working closely with the Portfolio Strategy, Leasehold and Service Delivery functions, and the Facilities Management supply chain, to optimise asset performance.

Promotes compliance with ISO 55000 Responsible for development, management and reporting of condition data across the estate, including application of the principals set out in GovS0004PDS010, and in particular the FMS007 GPF Guidance.
Reporting into Cabinet Office Better Buildings / OGP interface (Lifecyle and maintenance cost calculator, supporting the department as reporting with regard to SoftE reporting.
Responsibility for the development of LCW strategy, management of data and plan content, providing budget costs determined by scenario analysis, and supporting the SAMP. Analysis of large data sets, relating to lifecycle, asset condition, and investment costs.
Reporting on forward and backward maintenance liability and supporting Finance functions with Spending Review and budget justification for Lifecycle and investment.
Collaborates with colleagues to drive processes for identification of poor performing assets, repeat failures and obsolete assets for review/inclusion in the LCW planning process.
Manages and develops the Forward Maintenance Register, including overseeing external suppliers to produce an accurate data set capable of defining Lifecycle demand and producing project plans.
Manages the LCW programme prioritisation process, providing knowledge/expertise and technical support including production of pipeline programmes, and application of overlay factors such as Portfolio Strategy to develop LCW delivery programmes Defines strategy for LCW expenditure to meet DWP’s objectives (safe, compliant and operational) whilst identifying and promoting opportunity for investment to drive longer term value.

Supports the Capital Projects and Investment Team in the delivery of the LCW program, performing the role of internal Client function Develops and promotes asset management strategies, in support of leasehold property strategies.

Supports and deputises for the Head of Investment Planning and Asset Surveying as required.
