Job summary

Handelsbanken plc is seeking an Investment Performance and Risk Manager to lead the performance Measurement and risk analytics across Handelsbanken Wealth & Asset Management. You will partner with portfolio managers and senior stakeholders to challenge investment decisions and enhance data-driven reporting.

You will drive robust governance, oversee the 1LoD risk framework, and guide a small team, leveraging tools like FactSet, Bloomberg and Style Analytics to improve attribution and risk metrics.

Qualifications

• Experience in investment performance and risk roles.

• Proficiency in Python, SQL and Power BI preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Performance and Risk function for Handelsbanken Wealth 1LoD and oversee performance measurement and risk analytics.
• Collaborate with HACD and second line Risk & Compliance to ensure regulations and controls.
• Support Investment team using FactSet, Bloomberg, Morningstar and Style Analytics.
• Challenge asset allocation and stock selection, review portfolios with CIO.
• Construct and optimise portfolios via Strategic Asset Allocation process.
• Prepare and present regular reports and governance materials.
• Present to internal committees such as Investment Oversight Committee.
• Manage the Investment Performance & Risk Associate.
• Ensure instruments are modelled in FactSet; manage data requirements.
• Work with project managers to improve processes.
• Knowledge of Python, SQL and Power BI preferred.
• Liaise with partners on risk/performance matters.

The opportunity

This Investment Performance and Risk Manager role is responsible for leading the investment performance and risk function across Handelsbanken Wealth & Asset Management, providing oversight of portfolio risk, performance measurement and investment analytics. Working closely with portfolio managers and senior stakeholders, the successful candidate will challenge investment decisions, deliver insightful risk and attribution analysis, and ensure robust reporting and governance processes. The role also involves team leadership, strategic asset allocation support, and driving ongoing enhancements to investment data, systems and reporting capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Performance and Risk function for Handelsbanken Wealth 1LoD, investment team and be responsible for all aspects of performance measurement and risk analytics.


• Work closely with HACD and the second line Risk and Compliance teams to ensure regulations, controls and guidance are adhered to.


• Support the Investment team by utilising FactSet, Bloomberg, Morningstar and Style Analytics, both operationally and using the analytical capabilities to be able to benefit the business.


• Challenge asset allocation and stock selection decisions made by Investment Directors, and Investment Managers. Chair Monthly 1:1 meetings with portfolio managers alongside the Chief Investment Officer to review portfolio performance & evaluate risk metrics across the strategies.


• Construct and optimise portfolios, through an in-depth Strategic Asset Allocation (SAA) process, ensuring that risks are adequately captured and ensuring that the Investment Team are fully aware of the implications of their decisions.


• Be technically able to use databases and other sources to create and automate regular requests and reviews.


• Be comfortable enough to present to internal committees, Investment Oversight Committee (IOC).


• Manage the Investment Performance & Risk Associate, 1 direct report.


• Manage the sign off of monthly and quarterly reports, and factsheets.


• Use investment management tools, excel and FactSet to provide accurate and timely reporting both internally and externally. Eg VaR, Stress testing, Attribution & Contribution reports


• Respond to ad-hoc data requests accurately, efficiently and effectively.


• Prepare analysis and present data, challenges and observations at Quarterly Review Meetings.


• Ensure that all instruments are able to be modelled accurately within FactSet and ensure all technical and data requirements are adequately covered.


• Work with project managers and developers to ensure the continued improvement on efficiency within Handelsbanken Wealth & Asset Management's processes.


• Working knowledge of Python, SQL and PowerBi is preferred but not all essential.


• Work with potential new partners on risk/performance matters in order to provide robust risk management and performance evaluation.
