Job summary

SSE PLC is looking for an Investment & Commercial Manager to protect and grow the value of major renewable energy investments, with a focus on offshore wind. You will work across projects at different development and operation stages, using commercial insight, financial analysis and collaboration to support value creation.

Based from flexible UK locations with a preference for Havant or another key site, the role involves shaping contracting strategy, driving performance and ensuring compliance

Job description

Base Location: Flexible UK & Ireland, however our preference is that you will be based in one of our key UK or Ireland sites, which includes but is not limited to:- Glasgow, Perth, Aberdeen, Inverness, Reading, Havant, London, Belfast or Dublin.

Salary: £51,660-£77,400/ € 65,300-€97,900 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time or Part-Time | Flexible First options available

The role

We're looking for an Investment & Commercial Manager to help protect and grow the value of major renewable energy investments, with a focus on offshore wind. You'll work across projects at different stages of development and operation, using commercial insight, financial analysis and collaboration to support better decision-making and long-term value creation.

This is an opportunity to shape how large-scale renewable assets deliver value-while supporting the transition to a net zero energy system.

You will

• Maximise value across renewable energy investments, you'll use your knowledge of operating renewables assets to identify opportunities to improve revenues, reduce costs and manage risk.
• Provide clear commercial and financial insight to support investment decisions across complex projects and portfolios, demonstrating understanding of what drives value in renewable assets.
• Lead commercial input into key contracts, partnering with Procurement, Legal and Operations teams to secure balanced outcomes that support project objectives and maintain stakeholder and lender confidence.
• Use and challenge financial models to test assumptions and support robust, evidence-based decisions.
• Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, helping to align strategy, manage uncertainty and unlock portfolio-wide benefits.
• Revenue & Compliance; ensure compliance with Balancing Mechanism (BM), ancillary services and REGO requirements across the portfolio, protecting revenue and minimising risk.

You have

• Strong commercial and financial skills, with experience applying them to complex projects or investments, ideally within Renewables Wind, Energy or Power Generation environment.
• Experience working with contracts and negotiations, and an understanding of how commercial terms create or protect value.
• Confidence with financial models, including the ability to interpret, question and improve them.
• The ability to influence and collaborate, building constructive relationships across different teams and viewpoints.
• A curious, improvement-focused mindset, with experience delivering value or optimisation initiatives in changing environments.
