  • Perform company and asset valuations, trading comparables, precedent transaction analysis and peer-group benchmarking.
  • Conduct company, industry and market research to support M&A, asset acquisitions, divestitures and other corporate finance opportunities.
  • Prepare high-quality client presentations, pitch books, transaction materials and financial analyses for active mandates and business development opportunities.
  • Support the structuring and execution of transactions, applying strong analytical, financial and commercial judgement.
  • Participate in strategic discussions around client needs, market conditions and new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across London, Calgary, Toronto, Houston and other global offices to coordinate transaction workflows and client deliverables.
  • Manage assigned responsibilities effectively while supporting the Bank’s risk culture, regulatory requirements and high-performance environment.

Why This Role?

This role offers the opportunity to combine technical financial analysis, transaction experience and international collaboration within a global Energy investment banking franchise.

You’ll gain:

  • Hands-on experience building sophisticated valuation, debt, merger and transaction models.
  • Exposure to corporate M&A, Energy asset acquisitions and divestitures, and other corporate finance transactions.
  • Involvement in active client mandates, business development initiatives and strategic pitches.
  • Experience preparing high-quality transaction materials, pitch books and client presentations.
  • Exposure to precedent transactions, trading comparables, peer-group benchmarking and industry analysis.
  • Opportunities to work closely with senior investment banking professionals and contribute to client discussions.
  • International collaboration with Energy colleagues across multiple global offices.
  • A high-performing and inclusive environment that supports ongoing learning and professional development.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a self-motivated and results-focused professional who combines strong analytical capabilities with intellectual curiosity, attention to detail and a collaborative approach.

You will ideally bring:

  • An undergraduate or master’s degree, preferably in Finance, Business, Economics, Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or another relevant discipline.
  • Approximately six months to one year of Investment Banking or relevant Energy-industry experience.
  • Strong financial valuation and modelling experience, including discounted cash flow, merger and debt modelling.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with an understanding of corporate finance, company valuation and transaction analysis.
  • Excellent company, industry and market research skills, with the ability to translate analysis into high-quality client materials.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, together with advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint capabilities.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver accurate work within demanding timelines.
  • A proactive, client-focused and collaborative mindset, with strong attention to detail and an interest in developing within the Energy investment banking sector.

The position is based in a standard office environment. Non-standard working hours are a common requirement, and limited domestic or international travel may be required.
