Job summary

Government Recruitment Service in Manchester is seeking an Investment Associate to join the Office for Investment’s Place Team, focusing on the North West and Yorkshire. You will lead high-value investment opportunities and coordinate with investors, regional leaders, Ministers and senior officials.

This senior, outward-facing role involves setting direction for multidisciplinary teams, navigating policy barriers, and delivering credible, investible propositions to make the UK region

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of complex, high‑value investment projects.
• Provide leadership across the OfI Place Team and manage resource needs.
• Set strategic direction for multi-disciplinary project teams involving other government departments.
• Lead the preparation of high‑quality briefings, submissions and advice for Ministers, No.10, and senior officials.
• Provide robust project management, including milestone tracking, risk mitigation and governance.
• Work with regional partners to improve the quality, readiness, and commercial credibility of investment propositions.
• Act as a senior point of contact for investors, offering advice on policy, regulatory and place‑based offers.
