British American Tobacco United Kingdom has an exciting opportunity for an Investment Analyst in London

We are seeking an ambitious and motivated Investment Analyst to join our dynamic Btomorrow Ventures (BTV) team at our London headquarters (Globe House). As a key member of our investment team, you will be supporting the deal process from start to finish, including sourcing new prospects, running introduction meetings, conducting in‑depth financial/technical/strategic analysis, and presenting the prospects to the Investment Committee.

Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Contribute to thought leadership and investment thesis materials aligned with Btomorrow Ventures’ mandate.
  • Build and maintain internal and external networks to source and evaluate potential deals.
  • Manage the investment pipeline tracker and support commercial, financial, and technical due diligence.
  • Build financial models to assess company valuations, funding needs, and investment structures.
  • Prepare investment cases and materials for review by the Investment Committee.
  • Support origination activities, including conducting desktop research and attending industry events to form relationships across the start‑up ecosystem and pipeline for investment opportunities.
  • Support portfolio monitoring, strategic partnerships, and exit opportunity identification.
  • Build presentations and manage relationships with portfolio companies and the wider investment community.
What are we looking for?
  • 1‑2 years of experience from (Corporate) Venture Capital, Investment Banking, Private Equity, Strategy Consulting.
  • Demonstrated curiosity about working with start‑ups.
  • Financial modelling understanding.
  • Familiarity with VC process and key terms used in the negotiation and structuring of transactions.
  • A self‑starter able to operate with limited need for close supervision or mentorship.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships.
  • Initiative‑taking, proactive, and eager to take on new challenges.
  • Highly collaborative and contributes to effective teamwork and culture within BTV.
