Job description
About Sustainable Wealth Group

Sustainable Wealth Group is a specialist advisory firm dedicated to accelerating the growth of impactful, sustainable, and ethical businesses. We work with innovative startups, primarily in the Pre-Seed through Series A stages, providing them with expert guidance in strategy, scaling, and capital raising. Our mission is to bridge the gap between visionary entrepreneurs and purpose‑driven capital, ensuring that the next generation of businesses are built on strong foundations of both profit and purpose. Our central offices are based in London, UK.

The Opportunity: Investing Non‑Executive Director (NED)

We are seeking experienced, strategic leaders to join the Boards of Directors of our high‑potential startup clients as an Investing Non‑Executive Director (NED). This is a part‑time, remote role that offers a unique opportunity to shape the trajectory of groundbreaking companies focused on sustainability and positive impact.

What the Role Entails
  • Strategic Collaboration: Working closely with the client startup’s CEO and existing Board of Directors to provide high‑level strategic guidance and oversight.
  • Targeted Expertise: Contributing specific, valuable experience and expertise (e.g., in scaling, M&A, specific market knowledge, technology, etc.) to address the startup’s current challenges and growth requirements.
  • Fundraising Support: Leveraging your network and insights to support the startup’s fundraising efforts, primarily focused on Pre‑Seed to Series A capital raises.
  • Governance & Oversight: Ensuring robust corporate governance, risk management, and strategic alignment in the client company.
The Investing Commitment

This NED role is designed for individuals who are prepared to be an active and vested partner in the startup’s success.

Crucial Note: This is an Investing Non‑Executive Director position, and the role requires a personal capital commitment to invest in the client company. The required investment level will be discussed with shortlisted candidates and tailored to the specific startup and the Director’s capacity.

❗️ IMPORTANT: Capital at Risk. Investing in early‑stage startups involves significant risks, including illiquidity, lack of dividends, loss of investment, and dilution. It should only be done as part of a diversified portfolio and by investors who understand these risks. Your capital will be at risk.

Disclaimer: As an Investing NED, the role requires an ability and willingness to deploy personal capital into our high‑potential client startups. However, the final decision to invest in any specific company remains at the discretion of the Director, subject to their personal due diligence.

Compensation: Directors are compensated for their service via a competitive equity package within the client startup, or a small stipend, to reflect the value of their time, expertise, and contribution.

Who We Are Looking For
  • Significant experience as a Board Director, Investor, C‑Level Executive, or Founder.
  • A strong affinity for and understanding of the sustainable/impact investing landscape.
  • An active, high‑quality professional network that can benefit early‑stage fundraising efforts.
  • Availability for flexible, part‑ work.
  • Candidates from all regions, including the UK, Dubai, the Middle East, North America, and APAC, are strongly encouraged to apply.
