Job summary

NHS Highland is seeking a Sonographer to join the Ultrasound team based at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness and peripheral sites. The post is permanent and Band 7 with a salary of £52,845 - £61,466.

You will be a UK Registered Sonographer on the HCPC register (or equivalent), with CASE accreditation and recent experience performing ultrasound scans. The department provides a non-obstetric ultrasound service across specialties, and there is an emphasis on training, auditing and professional

Qualifications

• UK Registered Sonographer on the HCPC specialist register or equivalent.
• CASE accredited qualification is essential.
• Up-to-date knowledge of ultrasound practices and guidelines.
• Demonstrated experience reporting ultrasound scans.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality unsupervised ultrasound scanning sessions.
• Formulate reports and communicate results to clinicians.
• Provide specialist advice pertaining to the ultrasound service.
• Train and supervise staff within the ultrasound unit.
• Be involved in Audit, Research and Clinical Governance programmes.
• Deputise for the Team Lead Sonographer.
