Job summary

Experis - ManpowerGroup in Solihull seeks an Inventory & Asset Control Manager for a 3 to 6 month assignment. The role owns inventory governance across locations, systems and partners, establishing a trusted baseline and improving stock integrity.

You will lead asset recovery, obsolescence activity and ensure strong audit compliance, partnering with Finance, Digital, and operations to reduce write-offs and protect cash.

Qualifications

• Significant inventory control, asset management or supply chain operations experience.
• Knowledge of stock reconciliation, controls, audit evidence and root‑cause analysis.
• Experience of returns, recovery, refurbishment or obsolescence.
• Financial understanding of inventory valuation, provisioning and working capital.
• Ability to work with complex data and coordinate Finance, Digital, operations and partners.
• Desirable: Experience restoring an inventory baseline.
• Desirable: Knowledge of technology asset lifecycles or stock-related audit improvement.
• Desirable: Knowledge of field engineer, install and break-fix asset lifecycles.

Responsibilities

• Define controls for stock movements, adjustments, reconciliations and cycle counting.
• Lead discrepancy investigations and ensure root causes and corrective actions are addressed.
• Create and manage a recovery pipeline for stranded, returned and reusable assets.
• Prioritise reuse and redeployment before new purchase.
• Segment aged inventory and coordinate reuse, resale, refurbishment or write-off.
• Improve return and RMA controls with teams, suppliers and logistics partners.
• Maintain evidence supporting audit, financial control, security and environmental requirements.

Role: Inventory & Asset Control Manager

Location: Solihull

Rate: £420 to £510 per day via umbrella

Sits within the new Business Supply Chain function and owns inventory governance across locations, systems and partners. The role establishes a trusted inventory baseline, improves stock integrity and leads asset recovery and obsolescence activity, protecting cash, reducing write‑off risk and strengthening audit compliance.
