Job summary

Fortnum & Mason plc in London seeks a Trade Compliance Manager to oversee UK and international import/export regulations and manage the operational governance of international and wholesale supply chains.

You will work with customs brokers, freight forwarders and the logistics team to ensure licences, documentation, and audits, while delivering cost and service KPIs and driving continuous improvement in trade compliance.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of customs and international trade laws.
• Experience in compliance or advisory roles with brokers and forwarders.
• Proven ability to apply trade regulations across B2B/B2C channels.
• Strong regulatory network to stay ahead of changes.
• Project management experience in large-scale initiatives.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; cross-functional influence.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with UK and international trade regulations for import/export.
• Deliver cost and service KPIs across international and wholesale supply chains.
• Contract manage both international and wholesale operations.
• Provide technical advice on customs topics (classification, origin, duties).
• Lead trade compliance reviews, audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Train and advise staff on export/import requirements and trade compliance.
