Job summary

Lockton Companies in London seeks a senior finance leader to head a team of three accountants delivering business partnering and financial oversight for overseas regions (Latin America, MENA, Asia & Pacific). Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop a team of accountants responsible for business partnering and financial oversight of overseas entities.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual close and consolidation for overseas entities with timely reporting.
• Analyze financial results, balance sheets and cash flow; provide commentary for consolidated reporting.
• Build relationships with country and regional CFOs and Finance teams, and senior leadership.
• Support overseas regions in budgeting and forecasting with FP+A teams in the UK.
• Ensure overseas entities comply with local regulatory capital requirements.
• Serve as point of contact for technical accounting matters and prepare papers for significant transactions.

In line with the the Lockton strategy, the Finance function is developing and enhancing its capabilities. The team is modernising, automating and standardising its financial systems and processes in order to ensure efficiency and scalability as the company continues to grow.

Based in London as part of the International Finance team, you will be leading a team of three accountants, and be responsible for delivering finance business partnering to Lockton’s overseas regions (Latin America, MENA, Asia and Pacific). The team is responsible for ensuring that these regions report accurate and timely financial information to the UK as well as overseeing liquidity, funding, business acquisitions and other financial oversight of the overseas locations.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

• Lead, motivate and develop the team of accountants responsible for business partnering and financial oversight of Lockton’s overseas businesses whilst ensuring we have a thorough understanding of the overseas business strategies and current initiatives.
• Oversight of the monthly, quarterly and annual financial close process and consolidation of the overseas entities ensuring accurate and timely reporting of financial results and balance sheets in accordance with the group financial timeline.
• Review and analysis of financial results, balance sheets and cash flow of the overseas entities including provision of detailed commentary for consolidated reporting of the International business.
• Develop relationships with key stakeholders in the overseas businesses including country and regional CFOs and Finance teams, as well as stakeholders in the wider business including senior leadership.
• Support the overseas regions in the production of annual budgets and forecasts, working with the FP+A team in the UK and in accordance with group timelines.
• Ensure that overseas entities are compliant with local regulatory capital requirements.
• Act as a point of contact for technical accounting matters. Oversees production of accounting papers for significant transactions for the overseas entities including acquisitions

You should have the following knowledge and experience:

• Strong academic background
• Educated to degree level
• Qualified accountant: ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent
• Accounting and finance related experience gained in Insurance
• Minimum 8+ years post qualified experience
• Experience of leading and motivating a small team of accountants
• Proven track record of establishing strong relationships with senior stakeholders
• Strong technical skills and knowledge of UK GAAP
• Proven ability to drive changes and implement new policies / processes
• Demonstrate ability to work well as a team
• Experience of working in a high paced deadline driven environment
• Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills
