Job summary

Axle Energy Limited is seeking a high-impact, full-stack operator to drive international expansion. You will dig into regulations, model revenue per asset, and pilot new propositions across markets with startup-urgency pace.

The role requires hands-on work, building partnerships with grid operators, utilities, and potential clients, plus on-ground execution as markets scale. Equity is a meaningful part of total compensation in a flat, fast-moving, hybrid team.

Responsibilities

• High-level strategy development, defining and executing Axle’s international expansion plans, and assessing the commercial value of new markets and business models.
• Diving deep into policy and regulations, understanding how market access works and what needs doing to achieve it.
• Developing the zero-to-one of the business through partnerships with key stakeholders. You’ll be on the phone and eventually on the ground with grid operators, utilities/retailers and potential clients to create and disprove hypotheses quickly.
• Building the aeroplane as it flies: implementing as each international business scales, scoping pilots, tracking down partners and building relationships.

About the role

Axle has quickly become the leader in our operational markets, and we’re now looking to expand our reach internationally.

Our goal is to become the go-to platform for energy flexibility globally, and we’re hiring the person to make that happen.

This role will assess Axle’s future markets and business models from first principles: diving deep into regulations, modelling revenue-per-asset, and trialling new propositions at startup-urgent pace.

What you will be doing

• High-level strategy development, defining and executing Axle’s international expansion plans, and assessing the commercial value of new markets and business models
• Diving deep into policy and regulations, understanding how market access works and what needs doing to achieve it
• Developing the zero-to-one of the business through partnerships with key stakeholders. You’ll be jumping on the phone (and eventually, getting on the ground) with grid operators, utilities/retailers and potential clients to create and disprove hypotheses as quickly as possible.
• Building the aeroplane as it flies: getting hands dirty with implementation as each international business scales, scoping and setting up pilots, tracking down partners and building relationships.

As such, we are looking for a “full-stack operator” who can process highly technical information, sniff out commercial value, and run through walls to get us into markets at speed.

You might have previous experience in one or more of the activities above, but we are more interested in your growth potential than your domain-specific expertise. We are looking for people who have built things, developed new relationships, and helped get ambitious projects over the line in complex environments.
