Job summary

BDO UK is seeking a Programme Manager to oversee large audit projects within our UK Audit team. You will drive engagement with stakeholders, manage complex multi-audit programs, and ensure timely, high-quality delivery.

The role requires strong PM expertise in professional services, with a preference for audit. You will coach teams, manage projects within our PM framework, and contribute to governance and KPI reporting while navigating the regulatory landscape.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in programme management with solid project methodologies.
  • Professional services experience with a preference for Audit.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of Workday or Power BI is advantageous.
  • Ability to coach others in project/programme management and operate within our PM framework.
  • Knowledge of the regulatory environment of audits and working methods.

You’ll be someone who is comfortable working proactively and managing your own tasks. You’ll have excellent collaboration and communication skills that allow you to work effectively with others, both internally and externally, with the audited entity management, as well as with senior managers, directors, and BDO's partners. You’ll help deliver accurate and transparent reporting to all relevant stakeholders as you provide long term value.

This is an exciting opportunity to drive a key programme supporting the delivery of our larger, more complex and multiple component audits. We are looking for a project manager who is passionate about project management, can drive a culture of change and accountability, and can actively manage large complex audits with strategic and/or commercial impact.

In this role you’ll:
  • Be responsible for overseeing and project managing designated key audits.
  • Co‑ordinate projects and liaise with other team members to ensure that relevant parties are engaged with during the project.
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills. Be responsible for managing inboxes & calendars to drive organisation and structure.
  • Work with the appropriate stakeholders to establish and monitor engagement strategies, milestones, key deliverables, management information, and board reports.
  • Monitor progress against agreed parameters and associated project plans, identify key risks, resolve issues, and initiate timely corrective action.
  • Provide both internal and external parties with regular progress /status reports.
  • Exhibit great multitasking abilities and outstanding organisational skills. You should also be at ease collaborating with teams from all business disciplines and levels.

  • Utilise more effective processes and systems to create coherent audits that satisfy the needs and requirements of our audited entities.
  • Drive a culture of accountability.
  • Actively seek input from all parties and conducts evaluations with BDO leadership.
  • Assist in driving results by supporting our audit teams' commercial management and KPI tracking.
You’ll be someone with:
  • Extensive experience in Programme Management role, together with a solid grasp of project management methodologies.
  • Professional services experience with a preference for Audit.
  • Proficient in in the use of Microsoft Office, [knowledge of Workday or PowerBi an advantage]
  • Ability to coach others in project/programme management methodologies and work within our Project Management framework.
  • Knowledge of the regulatory environment of Audits and the working methods.

This role requires a minimum of three-days-a-week office attendance.
