A leading recruitment firm based in Greater London is looking for an Associate/Senior Associate to join its International Arbitration team. The ideal candidate should have between 3 to 6 years PQE in English law, with strong experience in high-value international arbitration and legal disputes within sectors such as oil and gas. Strong academics, teamwork skills, and first-rate communication abilities are essential. Qualifications

• 3 to 6 years PQE in English law, preferably in arbitration.
• Experience in complex international disputes and arbitration.
• Knowledge of technical and quantum-related disputes.
• Experience with expert determinations and dispute adjudication board procedures would be an advantage.
• Experience on disputes in oil and gas, mining, infrastructure and engineering sectors.
• Ideal candidate will have 3–6 PQE, with exceptional candidates outside this range considered.

Our client, a full service, multi office law firm, highly ranked in both the Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners, is looking to strengthen its litigation offering with the appointment of an associate/senior associate in Central London.

The International Arbitration team is staffed exclusively by genuine specialists in the practice area. Conducting a mix of commercial arbitration, arbitration-related English Court litigation and investment treaty work, the Partner and senior members of the team all developed their practices at leading US and ‘Magic Circle’ firms before joining to contribute to our clients growth and successes.

The department significantly punches above its weight and it is looking for candidates who share the team’s passion in its field and who actively wish to play their part in the continued growth.

The Candidate

Candidates should be qualified in English law and have a strong grasp of the legal issues which typically arise in arbitration matters concerning claims in contract, tort, and equity. Experience in representing clients in high value, complex international investment and/or commercial arbitration. Additional experience of expert determinations and dispute adjudication board procedures would be an advantage. Experience of working on disputed technical, delay, and quantum-related issues and disputes arising in the oil and gas, mining, infrastructure and engineering sectors.

The ideal candidate for this role will be between 3 and 6 PQE, but consideration will be given to exceptional candidates falling just outside this level.

The right individual will have strong academics and come from a firm of equal status and calibre. The candidate needs to have initiative and confidence but also strong teamwork skills, be well organised and have first‑rate communication skills both in writing and verbally.

Any experience in the department’s current core areas of focus, including Africa/Middle East disputes, and energy/O&G work, will be welcomed.
