DFS Group is seeking a Senior Internal Communications Manager to develop and deliver clear, creative engagement plans that drive results across our Group functions. You will work with senior leaders across logistics, retail, manufacturing, and support to keep colleagues informed, engaged, and aligned with our values and goals.

The role focuses on delivering key events such as livestreams and large-scale conferences, ensuring communications are impactful and consistent with our brand.

About the role

As a Senior Internal Communications Manager, you will play a pivotal role in bringing our Group purpose & values to life by developing and delivering clear, creative, and compelling communication and engagement plans and events that drive results. You'll work with senior leaders and teams across our business – including logistics, retail, manufacturing, and support functions – to ensure our colleagues are well-informed, engaged, and aligned with our values and goals.

Whilst you will be required to support the wider internal communications team with all activities you’ll have a particular focus on delivering key events such as live streams & large-scale face to face conferences that support our Group culture.

This role is a fixed term for 12 months - travel and overnight stays would be required.

What you’ll be responsible for

Understanding our Group business strategy, priorities, and challenges to shape communications that drive alignment and performance.

Providing expert communication consultancy and planning to senior leaders and stakeholders to support the delivery of business goals.

Developing and maintaining strong, credible relationships across the business, acting as a trusted partner who delivers high-impact communication outcomes.

Contributing to building a leader-led communications culture by supporting leaders with tools, coaching, and guidance.

Supporting the delivery of high-quality event experiences that support leadership visibility – including live streams & face-to-face leadership events.

Managing agreed events seamlessly from concept to execution in partnership with key stakeholders, ensuring every event aligns with core business objectives, purpose, values, and cultural behaviours.

Contributing to initiatives that support Group DFS’s inclusion ambition and help embed a more inclusive and connected colleague experience.

Creating clear, compelling, and engaging written communications that cut through and resonate with colleagues. Including script writing for events.

Creating engaging presentation slides suitable for events using Google slides.

Creating creative communications using a variety of mediums such as film, and effectively using design tools such as adobe express.

Delivering communications and engagement plans using the existing channel mix, ensuring consistency and alignment with our Group brand.

We’re looking for someone who has

Proven experience in a senior internal communications or business partnering role.

Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional events and internal campaigns across multiple channels.

Exceptional writing and editing skills – able to translate complex topics into engaging, easy-to-understand content.

Strong project and stakeholder management skills – able to influence, negotiate and collaborate with senior stakeholders.

Experience planning and delivering communications and events in complex, operational businesses.

Excellent understanding of internal communications best practice, channels, and tools.

Experience in basic design skills to create engaging communications using all forms of media - written, film, presentations.

Collaborative and consultative style with high emotional intelligence.

Credible and confident communicator with strong interpersonal and influencing skills.

Outcome-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

Passionate about colleague engagement and making a positive impact.

Creative thinker with a continuous improvement mindset.
