Job summary

Cygnet Health Care is seeking an entry-level Internal Auditor to join the Head Office Finance team, within the Operations Internal Audit function. The role involves testing accounting systems and procedures across UK sites and in head office audits, with hybrid working (two days in the office, three at home).

Travel to sites is required, a car and UK driving licence are essential, and an Enhanced DBS check is part of the eligibility.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS check is required.
• Car and UK driving licence essential for site travel.
• Proficient Excel and ability to meet deadlines.
• Experience in finance or audit is nice to have.

Responsibilities

• Travel to Cygnet sites across the UK to carry out facility-specific audits.
• Assist with Head Office finance audits covering petty cash, service user money, purchase ledger and expenses.
• Analyse and evaluate the accuracy of accounting systems and procedures.
• Review and develop internal audit controls, recommending changes with the Senior Internal Auditor.
• Prepare audit paperwork.
• Build working relationships with the senior management team.
• Prepare and annotate benchmarking reports.
• Complete internal audit templates across all UK sites.
• Carry out ad hoc duties set by the Group Internal Audit Assistant Manager.

The role is hybrid, with two days in the office and three at home, and training is provided. A car and UK driving licence are essential because of travel between sites.
