Job summary

Sage Group plc is seeking an Internal Auditor to join the Assurance team in Newcastle. You will help deliver the Internal Audit Plan across a varied portfolio, working with Assurance colleagues and a co-source provider.

The role offers hybrid working: 3 days in the Newcastle office and 2 from home, with travel up to 20–25%. You’ll engage stakeholders, lead audit meetings, and produce high-quality reports, while developing remediation actions and KPI reporting.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years’ internal audit or assurance experience.
• Solid knowledge of internal audit methodologies and standards.
• Experience planning and performing high-quality control testing, including IT-related audits.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver assigned audits from scoping through reporting.
• Prepare Audit Planning Memo and engage stakeholders.
• Document work to Assurance quality standards using the audit tool.
• Keep management informed of progress, findings and issues.
• Lead audit opening/closing meetings and produce clear reports.
• Support remediation tracking and action plan progress.
• Contribute to developing Assurance methodology and KPI reporting.

Job Description Are you an experienced audit or assurance professional looking to develop your career within a global technology business?We’re looking for an Internal Auditor to join our Assurance team in Newcastle. You’ll help deliver the Internal Audit Plan for Sage Group plc, working across a varied portfolio of audits alongside Assurance colleagues and our third-party co-source provider. The role offers excellent exposure to Sage leadership and the opportunity to build trusted relationships with stakeholders across the organisation.At Sage we have a hybrid working pattern - candidates must be able to work in the Newcastle office 3 days a week and 2 from home.Key Responsibilities What you’ll be doing:• Planning and delivering assigned audits, from initial scoping and fieldwork through to reporting• Producing an Audit Planning Memo for each review and ensuring the appropriate stakeholders are engaged• Documenting audit work to Sage Assurance quality standards using our dedicated audit management tool• Keeping management informed of progress, findings and potential issues throughout each audit• Coordinating and leading audit opening and closing meetings• Producing clear, accurate and high-quality audit reports• Supporting management to develop remediation action plans and tracking agreed actions through to completion• Contributing to the continued development of our Assurance methodology and internal audit practices• Supporting management information and KPI reporting• Building effective working relationships across the business and with third-party providersWe’re looking for someone who is:• Proactive, collaborative and comfortable taking ownership of their work• A confident communicator with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders across different business areas.• Motivated by learning and professional development• Able to challenge existing ways of working constructively• Highly organised, comfortable managing competing priorities and able to deliver high-quality work within agreed deadlines.Ideally, you’ll bring:• At least two years’ experience delivering internal audit or related assurance services• Practical knowledge of internal audit methodologies and relevant professional standards• Experience planning and carrying out high-quality control testing• Exposure to IT internal audit, information security or another related risk area• Experience using audit management or similar management software• Experience working within a multinational organisation with distributed teams and functions• Willing to travel internationally when required, which may account for up to 20–25% of the roleWe’re also looking for someone committed to continued professional development and willing to work towards an appropriate professional qualification.
