Cygnet Health Care is seeking an Internal Auditor to join the Head Office Finance team, based at Kings Hill, Kent. This hybrid role requires travel across the UK and offers full training for an entry-level position.

In this role you will analyse accounting processes, assist with head office audits, and develop internal controls. A car and UK driving licence are essential; a company vehicle is available after driver checks.

Responsibilities

• Travel to Cygnet locations UK-wide to conduct facility audits.
• Assist with Head Office finance audits covering petty cash, service user money, purchase ledger and expenses.
• Analyse and evaluate the accuracy of accounting systems and internal controls.
• Review and suggest changes to accounting systems and internal audit controls.
• Prepare audit paperwork.
• Establish relationships with senior management.
• Prepare benchmarking reports.
• Complete internal audit templates across sites.
• Process requests from the Internal Audit Director.
• Handle ad hoc duties from the Group Internal Audit Assistant Manager.

Cygnet Health Care is one of the UK's largest independent providers of mental health care. Cygnet is now looking to appoint an Internal Auditor to join our Head Office Finance team based in Kings Hill, Kent (ME19 4AE).

This is a hybrid role, with two days per week based in the office and three days working from home.

Purpose of this role:

To analyse and evaluate the accuracy of accounting systems and procedures within the Operations Internal Audit team, following the yearly audit plan to ensure the required percentage of facilities are tested throughout the year and any risks are highlighted in a timely manner.

This is an entry-level role, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin their career in auditing. Previous audit experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.

As the role requires travel, a car and UK driving licence is essential. A company vehicle is also available for use subject to completion of driver checks.

Job Description

• Travel to Cygnet locations across the UK to conduct facility specific audits.
• Assist with Head Office finance audits covering petty cash, service user money, purchase ledger and expenses.
• Analyse and evaluate the accuracy of accounting systems and procedures.
• Review, develop and in liaison with the Senior Internal Auditor recommend changes in accounting systems and internal audit controls of the business.
• Prepare audit paperwork.
• Establish working relationships with the senior management team.
• Prepare and annotate various benchmarking reports.
• Completing the internal audit templates across all of Cygnets sites throughout the UK.
• Completing task requests from the Internal Audit Director of UHS.
• Ad hoc duties from the Group Internal Audit Assistant Manager.
